MRO CTX Experiment Data Record (EDR)

EDR – Experiment Data Record

Instrument: Context Camera

PDS Data Set ID: MRO-M-CTX-2-EDR-L0-V1.0

For more information about the CTX EDR products, see the CTX Data Product SIS.

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Context Camera (CTX) produces this Standard Data Product, most closely analogous to the Experiment Data Record (EDR) products of previous missions. Each CTX Standard Data Product is a single image in the raw image format as produced by the instrument. The data have been depacketized, decompressed, and reformatted with standard labels, but are otherwise unprocessed.

Processed, non-PDS compliant Reduced Data Record (RDR) versions of the EDRs may be found at ASU Mars Space Flight Facility’s Mars Image Explorer.

CTX EDR products have the following file names:

ppp_nnnnnn_tttt_Xx_aahbbbW.IMG

where:

ppp = mission phase descriptor

nnnnnn = orbit number

tttt = center latitude (in units of 0.1 degree), measured from the descending equator crossing of orbit nnnnnn: 0 degrees is the descending equator crossing, 90 is the south pole, 180 is ascending equator crossing, 270 is the north pole

x = command mode

I = ITL-commanded image

N = NIFL-commanded image

aa = planned center latitude of the image

h = direction

N = north

S = south

bbb = planned center (west) longitude of the image

In ODE, EDR products have the following Product IDs:

PPP_NNNNNN_TTTT_XX_AAHBBBW
